Jordan Hawkinson Named MIAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Jordan Hawkinson (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) has been named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week by the league coaches. Hawkinson finished second individually with a score of 74-74--148 at the 18-team Wartburg Invitational held in Waverly, Iowa at Centennial Oaks Golf Course.

Men’s Golf Wins Wartburg Invitational

After completing 27 holes of golf on Sunday, the Gustavus men's golf team won the 18-team Wartburg Invitational with a two-day score of 306-300--606 in Waverly, Iowa at Centennial Oaks Golf Course. The Gusties edged Maryville (MO) by three strokes as the Saints shot a two-day total of 306--303--609. Jordan Hawkinson (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn.) paced Gustavus with a score of 74-74--148, as he finished second individually. Nick Profancik of Maryville earned medalist honors with a two-day total of 72-67--139.

Men’s Golf To Play Nine Holes At Wartburg Invitational On Saturday

The Gustavus men's golf team will play nine holes at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday. The 22-team field will play 27 holes on Sunday to complete both rounds of golf. Due to a shotgun start on Saturday and scores from nine holes , team scores will not be available until Sunday.

Men’s Golf Finishes Three Strokes Behind Flagler College

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a team score of 303 to finish three strokes behind Division II Flagler College, which had a team score of 300, on Thursday in a dual meet at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club Lagoon Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Ricky Copeland (So., Mathomedi, Minn.) paced the Gusties with a 73 on the par-72 course.

Men’s Golf Climbs To Third Place In National Poll

The Golf Coaches Association of America released its third Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches' poll of the spring season and the Gustavus men's golf team has climbed to the #3 position behind top-ranked Methodist and second-ranked Huntington. The Gusties moved up from the #4 spot despite losing a dual meet by three strokes to Division II Flagler College last week.

Men’s Golf Team Moves Up To Eighth Place in National Poll

The Golf Coaches Association of America released its final Division III poll of the fall season and the Gustavus men's golf team moved into the #8 position behind top ranked Methodist University. The Gusties jumped from the #18 position to the #8 position after winning the MIAC Championship at Bunker Hills Golf Course in early October.

Men’s Golf Rallies On Final Day To Win MIAC Championship, Sandhu Wins Individual Title

The Gustavus men's golf team trailed defending champion Saint John's by five strokes heading into the final round of the MIAC Championships, however the Gusties recorded their finest round of the fall season (288) and finished eight shots ahead of the runner-up Johnnies to claim the 2007 MIAC Team Championship. Gustavus freshman Ajeetesh Sandhu fired a 72 on the final day and finished first individually with a 36-hole total of 74-71-72--217 (+1).

Men’s Golf in First Place After First Day of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a team of score of 291 and holds a one-shot lead over defending champion Saint John's after the first day of the MIAC Championships which are being played at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. Gustavus was led by Jordan Hawkinson who posted a score of 70 (-2). The tournament will continue at Bunker Hills with the second round on Sunday morning.

Men’s Golf Slips to Second Place at MIAC Championships After Two Rounds

The Gustavus men's golf team shot a second round team score of 301 for a two day total of 291-301-592, which is five shots behind leader Saint John's at 292-295--587. The Gusties are being led individually by Ajeetesh Sandhu who is currently in a tie for second place at 74-71--145. The 54-hole tournament will conclude with the final round on Monday morning at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team finished second out of 17 teams at its own Twin Cities Golf Classic. The final round was played at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, Minnesota. Saint John's won the tournament with a total of 294-291-295--880, while Gustavus finished at 289-290-308--887. Individually, Jordan Hawkinson led Gustavus finishing in a tie for second with a total of 72-72-76--220.
