Men’s Golf In Ninth Place After First Round At Saint John’s Fall Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a first-round 311 (+23) Saturday at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational – played at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course – which has the Gusties sitting in ninth place out of 17 teams. The University of Manitoba leads the field after posting a 294. UW-Eau Claire is in second with a score of 295 and St. Thomas is in third with a 302.

Women’s Golf Takes Part In NCAA Preview, Men At Saint John’s

The Gustavus women’s and men’s golf teams are back in action this weekend taking part in a couple highly-competitive tournaments. The women are participating in the NCAA Division III Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., while the men travel to Central Minnesota for the Saint John’s Invitational. The women’s NCAA Preview, which is a two-round tournament Sunday and Monday, features 12 of the top teams in the country, while the Saint John’s Invite, which is two rounds Saturday and Sunday, is a 17-team field with teams from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Canada.

Men’s Golf Jumps Up Four Spots, Finishes Third At UW-Eau Claire Invite

After sitting in seventh place after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Invite, the Gustavus men’s golf team posted the lowest second round team score to jump up four spots and finish third of 16 on Monday afternoon. The Gusties shot a 310-300-610, which was four shots off the leader Augsburg at 297-309-606. Host UW-Eau Claire took second with a 305-302-607.

Men’s Golf In Seventh After Round One At UW-Eau Claire Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team sits in seventh place out of 16 teams after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Clarie. The Gusties shot a 310 (+22), which is 13 shots of the leader Augsburg. Viterbo and UW-Eau Claire are tied for second after shooting 303.

Men’s Golf Takes Seventh At Transylvania Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team improved on its first round shot total by five strokes for a round-two score of 293 on Sunday, but did not gain any ground on the leaderboard, finishing in seventh place at the Transylvania Invite. The Gusties shot a 298-293-591. Guilford won the event with a 570, while Greensboro took second at 575 and Ohio Wesleyan placed third at 577.

The Gustavus men's golf team currently sits tied for seventh place at the Transylvania Invitational after shooting a team score of 298 Saturday afternoon at the University Club of Kentucky. 

2017 Golf Season Preview

The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams tee up the 2017 fall season today as the men compete in the Transylvania Invite in Lexington. Ky. and the women compete in the Saint Benedict Invitational in Sartell, Minn. Both meets are two-day events.

Men’s Golf Ranked No. 20 In GCAA Preseason Poll

The Gustavus men's golf team received 82 points and are ranked No. 20 in the Golf Coaches Association of America Preseason Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. 

Gustavus Set To Induct Nine New Members Into Athletics Hall Of Fame

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has chosen nine individuals for induction into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2017 inductees include Brian Bergstrom ’02 (Football), Ryan Britz ’00 (Football), Sarah Garrison Moe ’02 (Hockey), Alicia Golembeski ’02 (Golf), Chad Gustafson ’01 (Golf), Brad Mazer ’02 (Baseball), Brenda Magoba ’97 (Track & Field), Rauha Rahkola ’97 (Cross Country/Track & Field), and Jerry Connolly (Coach). This group will be honored at the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held in Alumni Hall on Saturday, Sept. 23, following the Homecoming football game against Hamline at 1 p.m.

Men’s Golf Receives GCAA Academic Honor

The Gustavus men's golf team is one of seven NCAA Division III men's golf teams to receive President’s Special Recognition status from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
