Men’s and Women’s Golf in Action This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams are both in action Saturday and Sunday. The men travel to Maple Plain, Minn. to compete at the Pioneer Creek Collegiate while the women are in Waverly, Iowa for the Wartburg Fall Invitational.

Men’s Golf Opens Season with Dual Loss to St. Thomas

The Gustavus men’s golf team opened its 2019 fall campaign Friday with a dual loss to St. Thomas at Le Sueur Country Club. The Gusties carded a 10-over 290 while the Tommies posted a six-under 274.

The Gustavus men’s and women’s golf teams begin their fall seasons this weekend. The Gustie men host a dual against St. Thomas on Friday at Le Sueur Country Club while the women travel to Sartell, Minn. on Saturday and Sunday for the Saint Benedict Invitational.

Gustavus Set to Induct Eight New Members into Athletics Hall of Fame

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has chosen eight individuals for induction into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2019 inductees include Luke Benoit `04 (Golf), Molly Biehn Becker `04 (Softball), Mike Gempeler `91 (Hockey), Raman Jayapathy `85 (Tennis), Neil Johnson `04 (Golf), Jackie Luehman `04 (Track & Field), Angie Peterson Potts `04 (Basketball), and Kristin Peterson Smith `04 (Track & Field).

68 Gusties Recognized as 2018-19 MIAC Winter and Spring Academic All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) on Thursday announced its 2018-19 Winter and Spring Academic All-Conference Teams, which included 68 Gustavus student athletes. Combined with the 427 MIAC Fall-sport athletes who were honored in January, the overall total of Academic All-Conference selections for the 2018-19 academic year sets a new Conference-high of 1,172, surpassing the previous record of 1,111, set last June.

Men’s Golf Adds Multiple Postseason Honors

The Gustavus men's golf team recently completed their 2018-19 campaign and Wednesday received a handful of accolades as the Division III PING All-Region Team, the Division III All-Freshmen Team, and the Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars were announced. 

Pedersen Wins MIAC Men’s Golf Top Honors

Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) was named the MIAC men's golf Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year as voted on my the MIAC coaches, while Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) and Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.) were both named All-Conference.

Hauge Named MIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) was instrumental in the Gustavus men's golf team's day two comeback at the Bobby Krig Invite last weekend. After shooting a 78 in the opening round, Hauge posted a 69 on day two to help propel the Gusties to their first tournament victory of the season. For his performance, Hauge has been named MIAC Men's Golfer of the Week.

Men’s Golf Hosts Bobby Krig Invite to Close Out Season

The Gustavus men's golf team will host a quadrangular on Friday and Saturday to close out their season as they host Wisconsin Eau-Claire, St. Thomas, and Bethel at the Le Sueur Country Club. This weekends invite will as also be the last meet for Blake Heiman (Sr., River Falls, Wis.) , and Thomas Carlson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.), the two graduates on the team.
