MIAC Announces Basketball, Hockey Playoff Details

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced additional details for its all-comers tournaments in basketball and hockey on Friday. The MIAC Athletic Directors' Council moved to adopt a revised postseason format for this year due to the impact of COVID-19-related cancelations on the 2021-22 regular seasons.

Jan. 19 Men’s Basketball Home Game vs. Carleton Canceled

The Gustavus men's basketball game vs. Carleton scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Gus Young Court is canceled due to COVID testing protocols. This game may be rescheduled in the future as a non-conference contest if schedules allow.

Men’s Basketball Picks Up 83-74 Victory Over St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team evened its conference record when they traveled to Duluth on Saturday to face off against St. Scholastica for the first time as a MIAC opponent. Gustavus took an 83-74 victory and improves to 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. 

Men’s Basketball Second Half Woes Result in 69-55 Loss

SAINT PETER, Minn. - Despite a neck and neck battle against a tough Saint John's lineup, the Gustavus men's basketball team was halted in a second-half defeat on Wednesday night where they took a 69-55 loss and move to 6-6 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC. 

Winter Sports Canceled Jan. 8-10

Due to the increased number of COVID cases, recent NCAA guidelines, and policy changes that will soon take place, all Gustavus athletic events on Jan. 8, 9, and 10 are postponed. The MIAC contests are considered forfeit losses for the Gusties under the current MIAC policy.

Men’s Basketball Defeats Saint Mary’s 83-70

WINONA, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team resumed conference play when they traveled to Saint Mary's on Wednesday night. The Gusties took an 83-70 victory and improve to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in the MIAC. Kaleb Feahn (Sr., Waseca) led the team with 27 points with a season high six three-pointers while Pete Lundquist (Sr., Rochester) made nine rebounds and impressed with five blocks in the win.

Men’s Basketball Opens 2022 with 82-69 Win Over Crown

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team hosted Crown College for a non-conference New Year's Day game. The Gusties were victorious in the 82-69 final and move to 5-5 overall and remain 2-3 in the MIAC. Nolan Malo (Sr., Owatonna) had team highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite Second-Half Rally, Men’s Basketball falls to Augsburg 93-81

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team hosted Augsburg on Wednesday night and despite a second half rally, was dealt a 93-81 conference lost as they move to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the MIAC.

Men’s Basketball Wins Home Opener 84-67, Feahn Impresses with 29 Points

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team hosted its home opener on Saturday afternoon against the Macalester Scots where they took an 84-67 and improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC. Kaleb Feahn impressed with 29 points in the victory while Jake Guse had a team high 10 rebounds.

Men’s Basketball Slips Late In 64-68 Loss To Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Gustavus men's basketball team traveled to Carleton on Wednesday night and were defeated 68-64. With the loss, Gustavus dips to 3-4 and 1-2 in the MIAC. Kaleb Feahn (Sr., Waseca) led the team with 24 points while Spencer Swanson (Fy., Waconia) recorded eight rebounds.
