Deja Vu, Baseball Comes Back For 13-12 Win Over Middlebury

New day, similar story. For the second straight game, the Gustavus baseball team erased a late-inning deficit for a come-from-behind victory over Middlebury. The Gusties won 13-12 after trailing 10-6 to start the sixth inning, but a six-run frame gave the Black and Gold a lead it would not relinquish for their seventh straight victory. The Gusties are now 8-3, which marks the best start to a season since 2006 (8-3), along with the longest winning streak since 2008 (nine games).

Comeback Effort Against Middlebury Good For Baseball’s Sixth Straight Win

The Gustavus baseball team won its sixth straight game Sunday in comeback fashion, beating Middlebury 10-8 to improve to 7-3 overall. Trailing 5-3 in the seventh inning, the Gusties erupted for five runs and held on for a two-run victory.

Baseball Sweeps To Start Tucson Trip

The Gustavus baseball team started its spring break trip on the right foot with a pair of wins Saturday at the Kino Sports Complex. The Gusties defeated UW-Superior 10-4 before shutting out Grinnell 4-0 to improve to 6-3 overall.

Baseball Travels To Arizona For Spring Break Trip

The Gustavus baseball team is set for its annual spring break trip, which this year takes place March 24-30 in Tucson, Ariz. The Gusties will play seven games in five days against four different teams at the Kino Sports Complex, former spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox. And for the first time, all seven spring break games will have live stats, courtesy of the Gustavus sports information department.

Wednesday’s non-conference baseball game may have felt more like a late-fall football contest with temperatures in the 30s, but Gustavus was able to warm up the bats with a doubleheader sweep over Northwestern-St. Paul. The Gusties won game one 6-4 and game two 14-10, improving to 4-3 overall, while the Eagles fall to 5-11.
