Gymnastics Season Preview

The new look Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team is filled with a great deal of optimism as it is set to embark on the 2010 season. Kelly Mathewson will look to lead this young and inexperienced squad as the 2010 Gustavus gymnastics team returns 11 letterwinners and welcomes nine first year gymnasts to the program. The Gustavus gymnastics team will open the season with a dual meet at home against UW-Oshkosh this Saturday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Season Preview

The 2010 Gustavus Adolphus women’s indoor track team will hope to remain at the top of the MIAC this season after posting an impressive second place finish at the 2009 MIAC Indoor Track Championships. Select members of the Gustavus women’s indoor track team will open the season at the Bethel University Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16, in Arden Hills, Minn.

Women’s Nordic Skiing Finishes Third At Saints Invitational

The Gustavus women's nordic ski team took third place (30 pts) at the Saints Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Senior Erin Eppler was the top Gustavus finisher as she took fifth overall with a time of 0:38.26. The College of Saint Benedict won the meet with 44 points.

Men’s Nordic Skiing Takes Third At Saints Invitational

The Gustavus men's nordic ski team finished in third place (37 pts) at the Saints Invitational hosted by Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn. on Sunday afternoon. Gustavus Sophomore Anders Bowman won the race with a time of 0:31:45. Saint John's won the meet with a total of 48 points while St. Scholastica took second with 39 points.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes Second at CSB/SJU Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team finished in second place with 661 points at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. The Gusties tallied four event wins on the day, two of which were by Paul Kirihara who won the 100 (55.15) and 200 backstroke (2:00.67). Saint Cloud State University won the meet with 829 points.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At CSB/SJU Invitational

The Gustavus women's swimming and diving team took second place (692 pts) at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. Carrie Gundersen was the top Gustavus swimmer with wins in both the 200 (1:59.66) and 500 free (5:16.98) and a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:18.75). St. Cloud State University won the meet with 835 points.

Late Second Half Surge Gives Men’s Basketball 73-66 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus men's basketball team remained undefeated with a 73-66 victory over Hamline on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. The Gustavus bench outscored Hamline's 21-2 in the second half. Phil Wirtjes and Seth Anderson led the Gusties in scoring with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Women’s Soccer Player Alison Dittmer Named To NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region Team

Gustavus Adolphus College senior defender Alison Dittmer was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-Central Region 2nd Team on Friday. Dittmer is a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major with a GPA of 3.84.

Strong Second Half Propels Men’s Basketball Past St. Olaf 69-56

The Gustavus men's basketball team shot 83% (15-18) from the field in the second half on Wednesday night in St. Peter, propelling them to a 69-56 victory over St. Olaf. The Gusties overcame a 16-point second half deficit by making a 23-2 scoring run in just over eight minutes. Gustavus was as led by Sam Paulson (15 pts) and Ryan McPartland (13 pts).
