Four Members Of Gustavus Indoor Track & Field Teams Qualify For 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Four members of the Gustavus indoor track and field team have qualified to compete at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 12-13 at the James A. Hollensteiner Track in the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center on the campus of DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. Seniors Max Hanson and Kaelene Lundstrum, and juniors Janey Helland and Sam Broderius will be among the total of 446 student-athletes competing in the two-day event.

Gustavus Adolphus junior defender Kirstin Peterson (St. Paul, Minn./Hill-Murray) has been named MIAC Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week for her efforts in Gustavus's 5-0 win over St. Olaf in the MIAC Playoff semifinals, and 5-1 victory over St. Catherine in the MIAC Playoff Championship game.

Men’s And Women’s Track & Field Teams Receive All-Academic Team Honors

Both the Gustavus Adolphus men's and women's indoor track and field teams have received All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The men's team had a cumulative team GPA of 3.28, while the women's squad had a team GPA of 3.47.

Jens Brabbit Set To Compete At 2010 NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus Adolphus Junior Jens Brabbit (Winona, Minn./Cotter) is set to compete at the 2010 NCAA Skiing Championships held March 10-13 at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Howelsen Hill Ski Area in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Brabbit will race in the 10km classic on Thursday, March 11, at 11:30 a.m., and the 20km freestyle on Saturday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. Both races will take place at the Howelsen Hill Ski Area.

Women’s Tennis Posts 3-0 Record At Home And 2-1 On Road Saturday

The Gustavus women's tennis team posted a 5-1 record on Saturday with a 9-0 wins over Bethel, Concordia, Macalester, and MSU-Moorhead, a 8-1 victory over Bemidji State, and a 5-2 lost to the University of North Dakota.

Gymnastics Concludes Season With Seventh Place Finish At 2010 WIAC Championship

The Gustavus gymnastics team registered 175.275 points to finish in seventh place at the 2010 WIAC Gymnastics Championship held Sunday afternoon on Gus Young Court in St. Peter, Minn. UW-Whitewater took home the 2010 WIAC Championship crown with 185.475 points. UW-La Crosse placed second (183.775), while Winona State University rounded out the top three in third (183.600).

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Runner-Up At 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team went into the final day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a narrow one point lead over defending MIAC Champion St. Thomas. The Gusties could not hold the advantage on Saturday, as St. Thomas tallied 78 points, bringing it’s total to 158, and edging Gustavus by 28 points as the Gusties finished with a total of 130 points to place second.
