STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Gustavus women’s swim & dive team won the Point Invite on Saturday with a score of 1016, while the Gustie men finished second at 1014 points.
Marit Isaacson (So., Saint Paul), Lindsay Sundby (Fy., Cannon Falls), Ellen Hofstede (Sr., Saint Paul), and Lucy Peterson (Jr., Saint Paul) won the 200 medley in 1:50.95. Leah Soukup (Jr., Eagan) then won the 400 IM with a time of 4:58.23. Hofstede also won the 100 butterfly in 59.11 and the 50 free in 24.46. Sundby had an individual win as well in the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.57. As did Isaacson in the 200 backstroke, clocking in at 2:12.47. The 400 free relay team of Isaacson, Macey Whitlock (So., Brainerd), Peterson, and Hofstede wrapped up the meet with a winning time of 3:39.04.
Peyton Richardson (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill.) took first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:15.70. Matt Strom (Jr., Rochester) finished first in the 200 free at 1:46.77. The 400 free relay team of Erik Small (Sr., Hudson, Wis.), Andrew Becker (Sr., Northfield), Dane Hudson (Sr., Eden Prairie), and Strom finished the meet in first with a time of 3:11.59.
Gustavus travels to Saint Ben’s/Saint John’s next Saturday.
