HAM LAKE, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s golf team had two teams compete at the Augsburg Fall Invitational over the weekend at Majestic Oaks Golf Club with the Gustavus B team taking fourth at 307-302-609 (+14) and the Gustavus A team placing fifth at 305-307-612. Saint John’s won at 299-298-597.
The Gusties had three individuals finish in the top-20 with Wyatt Wasko (Sr., Lake Elmo) leading the way at 71-76-147 (+3), tying for fourth. Wasko carded three birdies on Sunday after posting four on Saturday. Sam Skaar (Sr., Coleraine) tied for seventh with a 75-74-149, highlighted by four birdies in each round. Tommy Hiniker (Jr., Edina) led the B team with a 78-74-152 and tied for 17th.
Chris Gutuza (Fy., Johannesburg, South Africa) tied for 22nd at 77-76-153, Ben Forsberg (Jr., Shafer) tied for 71st at 82-84-166, and Jack Holtan (Sr., Rochester) rounded out the A team at 87-81-169 and tied for 75th.
Gustavus next competes Saturday and Sunday at the Minnesota Classic, hosted at Pioneer Creek in Maple Plain, Minn.
