SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus gymnastics team travels to Milwaukee, Wis. Friday for the Harley Meet hosted by UW-Whitewater. The meet will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Hall Gymnasium. Gustavus is off to a 3-2 start, most recently placing second of three teams at UW-La Crosse last week with a score of 176.600. UW-Whitewater most recently posted a 187.625 Saturday against UW-Stout, while UW-Oshkosh will also be at the meet and they put up a score of 188.550 last Thursday against Winona State.

Last Time Out

The Gustavus gymnastics team competed at the Gershon Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse Friday night and took second of three teams. The Gusties scored 176.600, while La Crosse won the event with a 185.800.

Gustavus scored 44.275 on vault and 42.575 on bars, while notching 44.250 on beam and 45.500 on floor.

Annie Corbett (Fy., Brookfield, Wis.) led the Gusties, winning the all-around wwith a score of 36.200. Corbett won the beam with a score of 9.500, while her score of 9.425 on the floor gave her second place. Sophia Redding (So., St. Paul) placed highest on bars for the Gusties with a 9.100, while Corbett took the top vault spot for the Black and Gold with a 9.175.

“Tonight was a tough meet for us,” said Head Coach Aryn DeGrood. “We started stroong on beam and from there we are taking the meet as a growing experience. There were a lot of positives that happened and improvements made and that’s what we’re focusing on and moving forward with. Control the controllables has been a point of emphasis for our year and that is what we’re going to do.”
