SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team is back in action Friday after nearly a month off when they travel to St. Olaf for a 7 p.m. contest, with the teams playing again Saturday at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 7:05 p.m. The Gusties enter 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC, while the Oles are 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

The Series: Friday’s contest marks the 106th all-time meeting between the two teams with the Gusties leading the series 66-29-10. The two teams last met on Nov. 3, 2019, with the Gusties falling to the Oles 2-1.
Scouting the Gusties: Gustavus enters the contest most recently coming off a 4-1 loss to St. Scholastica on Dec. 13. Through 11 games, the Gusties rank fourth in the MIAC with 2.64 goals per contest, while their 2.35 goals allowed are second. The Gusties have been efficient on the power play, scoring on 8-of-39 power play opportunities to lead the conference in both total goals and percentage. Robbie Goor has been the primary goalie for the Gusties, making 186 saves while allowing 15 goals in seven starts. Caleb Anderson leads the attack, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists for a team-best nine points, Connor Clemons and Nick Klishko each have three goals and five assists for eight points.
Scouting the Oles: St. Olaf is most recently coming off a 3-1 non-conference win over Hamline on Saturday. Through 13 games the Oles score 1.77 goals per game which ranks eighth in the MIAC while their 4.08 goals allowed rank ninth. On special teams the Oles are strong on the penalty kill, allowing just four goals short-handed to lead the conference. Paul Stehr has scored a team-best four goals and passed out two assists for six points, while Roshen Jaswal also has half a dozen points on three goals and three assists.
