Caitlin Rorman Named MIAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

Caitlin Rorman (Fy., Blue Earth) averaged 16.5 points per contest last week in a pair of Gustie wins and helped lead Gustavus to its first victory over St. Thomas since 2010 and was named MIAC Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Caitlin Rorman (Fy., Blue Earth) averaged 16.5 points per contest last week in a pair of Gustie wins and helped lead Gustavus to its first victory over St. Thomas since 2010 and was named MIAC Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

The first-year started her week Wednesday with her fifth double-digit scoring performance of the season, putting up 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the team’s 76-57 win over Hamline. She then put up 20 points in the Gusties’ win over No. 6 St. Thomas Saturday, including nine in a critical second quarter that saw Gustavus outscore the Tommies 19-6. Rorman added seven rebounds in an effort that saw Gustavus snap St. Thomas’ 77-game MIAC win streak and handed the Tommies their first loss at Schoenecker Arena since Dec. 16, 2017.
