Cross Country Races at UW-La Crosse Saturday

The Gustavus cross country teams are back in action Saturday as they compete in the 39th annual Jim Drews Invitational and the 26th annual Tori Neubauer Invitational. The men’s race starts at 11 a.m. and the women follow at 11:50. Both races are at the Ettrick Golf Club.

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus cross country teams are back in action Saturday as they compete in the 39th annual Jim Drews Invitational and the 26th annual Tori Neubauer Invitational. The men’s race starts at 11 a.m. and the women follow at 11:50. Both races are at the Ettrick Golf Club in Ettrick, Wis.

The Jim Drews Invite features 22 men’s teams running an 8k, while the Tori Neubauer Invite includes 23 teams running a 6k.

LIVE RESULTS

The Gustie men last competed on Oct. 5 at Wartburg’s Dan Huston Invite and took fifth of 17. Andrew Stumbo (Jr., Boone, Iowa) was the team’s top finisher, taking 23rd place with a time of 26:59.7, while Garet Grant (So., Winona) followed shortly after him in 34th with a time of 27:22.2. Jeremy Gilbertson (Jr., Maple Grove)Ben Wicklund (So., Marine on St. Croix), and Nick Kerbeshian (Jr., Plymouth) rounded out the top-five for the Gusties finishing in 44th, 45th, and 51st, respectively, with times of 27:37.7, 27:38.3, and 27:41.3.

The women also took fifth place at Wartburg a couple weeks ago. Tierney Winter (Sr., Waterville) led the charge for the Gusties, finishing 12th in a time of 24:01.1. Kourtney Kulseth (Jr., New Richland) and Iliana Ramon (So., Fairmont) both ran well for the Black and Gold, finishing in 32nd and 41st, respectively, with times of 24:33.4 and 24:50.8. Mackinzee Miest (So., St. James) and Lily Engebretson (So., St. Paul) rounded out the top-five with Miest finishing in 55th with a time of 25:13.6 and Engebretson finishing 58th with a 25:20.7.
