NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s track & field team Saturday won the Carleton Relays with 213.5 points, nearly 90 more than second place Carleton.

Seven Gusties reached the top of the podium in seven events – Abigail Schnabel (Sr., Hamburg, Minn.) in the 800-meter, Tierney Winter (Jr., Waterville, Minn.) in the 1500-meter, Kourtney Kulseth (So., New Richland, Minn.) in the 5K, Halley Brocker (Fy., Ankeny, Iowa) in the high jump, Isabella Klabough (So., Elysian, Minn.) in the discus, Katie Keelin (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.) in the hammer, and Bailey Van Den Heuvel (Sr., Mondovi, Wis.) in the javelin.

“Having that many first place finishes shows we’re not one dimension,” Head Coach Dale Bahr said. “It also shows we have a lot of depth and are a well-rounded team. It’s good for the different groups and everybody. The teams at the meet didn’t all have their full squads but its still nice to get a first place finish. I’m expecting us to perform well at this time of year with only two events left before the conference meet.

“Tierney dominated the field from the start of the gun. Abby Schnabel did the same thing in the 800. That’s huge for them to do that without a lot of pressure behind them. Bailey PR’d by a large margin. They are performing very well. It’s looking like we should be able to go into the conference meet with confidence to make some noise.
