SCOUTING THE GUSTIES

Gustavus snapped a three-game winning streak Saturday at Saint Mary’s and is 4-4 in 2019. Through 19 games the Gusties average 67.1 points and allow 58.8 per game while shooting 40.4 percent from the field – all marks that rank in the top-five in the MIAC. An area of growth is rebounding as the Gusties average a league-worst 32.8 boards per game, but they distributed the ball well with 14.8 assists per game. The Black and Gold turns the ball over the least in the league with 15.1 per game. Kendall Thompson leads the team with 14.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, along with 57 steals and 66 assists. Justine Lee averages 13.5 points and leads the squad with 24 three-pointers made. Paige Richert averages double figures as well with 10.4 points along with 5.6 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE PIPERS

Hamline is 2-2 in its last four games, most recently defeating Saint Benedict 67-60 on Saturday. Through 19 games the Pipers average 63.7 points and allow 58.2 per game. They shoot 37.4 percent from the field and average 38.2 rebounds. Hamline controls the ball well with just 15.5 turnovers per game, which is second in the MIAC to Gustavus. Reilly Geistfeld leads the offense with 17.3 points along with a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. Chan’el Anderson-Manning (10.6) and Kaeli Stayer (10.2) also average double figure points.
