Friday’s game in Minneapolis begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s game at Don Robert Ice Rink is at 7:05 p.m. The Gusties enter the series 5-11-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 13-2-2 overall and 7-0-1 in the league.

SCOUTING THE GUSTIES

Gustavus is looking to snap a five-game losing streak, most recently dropping a series against St. Thomas 3-2 in overtime on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday. Through 17 games, the Gusties average 2.1 goals and allow 2.4 per game. They also average 33.6 shots, which is most in the MIAC. Special teams are a strength with the Black and Gold killing off a conference-leading 51-of-56 penalties for a .911 percentage. On the power play, the Gusties are 11-for-55 (.200). Caleb Anderson leads the offense with 12 points on four goals and eight assists. Evan Erickson is next with 11 points on six goals and five assists. Chris Amsden is the top goaltender with a 2.17 goals against average and a .919 save percentage in 10 starts.

The Auggies lead the MIAC in goals (67), assists (110), power play goals (18), power play percentage (.254), and save percentage (.920). They have scored at least five goals seven times this season and have posted two shutouts. Alex Rodriguez leads the offense with 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists. Chandler Madry has 21 points on eight goals and 13 assists, while Tommy Carey (6g, 13a) and Luke Dietsch (9g, 10a) each have 19 points. Nick Schmit has seen the most time in goal with a 2.18 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in 12 starts.
