SAINT PETER, Minn. – For her performance this past weekend in a sweep over Bethel, Allie Stanger (Sr., Paynesville, Minn.) has been named to the D3hockey.com Women’s Hockey Team of the Week. In the first contest against Bethel on Friday night, Stanger scored the first goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, to help propel the Gusties to a 4-0 victory. On Saturday though, Stanger had a career day. With the Gusties trailing by two goals for the first time all season, she scored two goals in the second period to even the game at 2-2. Then, with the game tied at 3-3 and 42 seconds remaining in the third period, Stanger scored her second game-winner in as many days, and also recorded her first collegiate hat trick in the process. This is the second time a Gustie has been awarded this honor this season as fellow senior Amanda DiNella received the award earlier this year.
