SAINT PETER, Minn. – After a non-conference road trip last weekend, the Gustavus men’s hockey team is back to MIAC play this weekend for a home-home series against Hamline. Friday’s game in St. Paul, Minn. starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s game in Saint Peter, Minn. begins at 7:05 p.m. The Gusties enter the series 2-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the MIAC, while the Pipers are 1-5 overall and 1-1 in the league.

SCOUTING THE GUSTIES… Through six games to start the season, Caleb Anderson leads the Gustie offense with seven points on four goals and three assists. Evan Erickson has five points on one goal and four assists, while Colton Schmidt has four points on a pair of goals and assists. Chris Amsden has started four games in net with a 2.42 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. As a team, the Gusties average 2.2 goals and allow 2.7 goals per game. They also have a .058 shot percentage and have converted 21.7 percent of their power plays.

SCOUTING THE PIPERS… After starting the season with five consecutive losses, Hamline got in the win column last Friday with a 4-1 victory over Saint John’s, salvaging a series split. Through six games, Mitch McPherson leads the Piper offense with six points on three goals and three assists. Weiland Parrish and Bailey Martin both have five points – Parrish with four goals and an assist, and Martin with four assists and a goal. Sam Nelson and Evan Robert have split time in goal with three games apiece. Nelson has a 2.69 goals against average and .914 save percentage, while Robert has a 4.36 goals against average and an .877 save percentage.
