Anderson And Stowell Earn Women’s Track & Field All-Region Honors

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division III indoor track & field season, with Gustavus women’s track & field athletes Alex Anderson (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) and McKayla Stowell (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) receiving central region honors.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division III indoor track & field season, with Gustavus women’s track & field athletes Alex Anderson (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) and McKayla Stowell (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) receiving central region honors. 

Anderson is an all-region honoree in the high jump, earning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference laurels with a second place leap of 5-4.25 at the Indoor Championships on Feb. 23 in St. Paul, Minn. Her season-best high jump of 5-4.5 ranks within the top-25 in Division III. 

Stowell also received MIAC All-Conference honors, finishing third in the 60-meter dash at the Indoor Championships with a time of 7.80. Stowell previously set a career-best time of 7.76 at the Maverick Invite in Mankato, Minn. en route to earning the MIAC Track Athlete of the Week accolade Feb. 20. Her top time ranks within the top-20 in Division III.
