The Gustavus women’s cross country finished second out of six teams at the Les Duke Invitational hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Nichole Petersen finished third individually (23:14) and was the first collegiate runner to place as she finished behind two open runners who took part in the race.
Team results included MIAC rival Carleton in first with 26 points, followed by Gustavus with 39, Grinnell with 82, Coe with 92, William Penn with 156 and Grand View with 171.
Top Gustavus finishers included Tasha Pike in ninth (24:15), Laura Edlund in 10th (24:19), Val Berquam in 12th (24:21), Lydia Davitt in 16th (24:36), Ali Cordie in 17th (24:43) and Hailey Harren in 19th (24:49).
