Men’s Swimming & Diving Wins Grace Goblirsch Invite

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 861 points for first place, while Morningside College took second with 497 points, edging Macalester with 480. Gustavus won eight individual events and three relays.

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 861 points for first place, while Morningside College took second with 497 points, edging Macalester with 480.

“For as hard as we are training at this time of the season I was very pleased with our results,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “They really stepped up. The energy wasn’t at their best, but they swam smarter and we improved on things we’ve been working on in practice. I’m looking forward to our meet at Grinnell in two weeks after a little bit of a break and see what they can do.”
