Women’s Golf Sits In Fourth After Day One Of Saint Ben’s Invite

The Gustavus women’s golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the College of Saint Benedict Invitational after turning in a team score of 333 Saturday afternoon at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.

SARTELL, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the College of Saint Benedict Invitational after turning in a team score of 333 Saturday afternoon at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.

Carleton College leads the field after scoring a 318, with the University of St. Thomas 10 strokes behind at 328, and St. Catherine University ahead of the Gusties by three strokes at 329.

Kristen Cash (So., Roseville, Minn.) currently sits tied for seventh place with an 80. Abbie Grevlos (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) also shot an 80 on the Gusties’ second team.

“Overall, not a bad day,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We need to clean up some things for tomorrow. We were striking the ball fairly well, looking forward for a great day tomorrow.”

“Kristen Cash played solid and Abby Grevlos posted a nice score on our second team. We got some of the jitters out today and are looking forward to another opportunity tomorrow,” said Moe.

The second round of the tournament begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Tee times run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:04 a.m.
