Women’s Tennis Returns To MIAC Play This Weekend With Three Matches

After having last weekend off for the holiday, the Gustavus women’s tennis team returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday at Carleton. ST. PETER, Minn. – After having last weekend off for the holiday, the Gustavus women’s tennis team returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday at Carleton. The meeting is a rematch of last year’s MIAC playoff championship, which the Gusties won 5-0. Both teams enter the match undefeated in league play – the Gusties are 5-0 (13-6 overall) and the Knights are 7-0 (11-4 overall). Saturday’s match begins at 11 a.m.

Gustavus then returns home Sunday for a pair of league matches against St. Catherine at 10:30 a.m. and Saint Benedict at 3 p.m. The Wildcats are 11-4 overall and 6-2 in the MIAC, while the Blazers are 9-11 overall and 2-5 in the league.

Last time out: After 10 non-conference matches over the past month, the Gusties returned to MIAC play last Tuesday, shutting out Concordia 9-0. The Gusties have not allowed a conference opponent to score a point yet this season.
