ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team continues spring competition tomorrow, heading to Victoria, Minn. to participate in the Bethel Royal Match.

The 36-hole event hosted by Bethel University is set for Deer Run Golf Club. Teams will hit the course for the opening round Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with the final round set for Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Last weekend, Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls., S.D.) guided the Gustavus women’s golf team to a successful weekend at the Battle at the Creek at Pebble Creek Golf Course to earn her second-consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week award.

During day one on Friday, Meierhenry led the competition and turned in a one-over-par score of 73 to put the Gusties in the No. 2 position for Saturday’s match play against the top team in Carleton College. The Knights took down the Gusties 3-2 in match play on Saturday, while Carleton’s Ayumi Sakamoto went two up to defeat Meierhenry.
