Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Weekend With Split

The No. 19-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team played two split squad matches Saturday, defeating Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Saint John’s University 9-0 at Swanson Tennis Center and falling 7-0 at the University of North Dakota.

ST. PETER, Minn. – The No. 19-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team played two split squad matches Saturday, defeating Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Saint John’s University 9-0 at Swanson Tennis Center and falling 7-0 at the University of North Dakota.

“The guys competed well today and put together a solid weekend,” said Head Coach Tommy Valentini. “We gained a lot of good experience and grew as a group in a lot of important ways. We’ll look to build on the progress from this weekend as we prepare for an exciting spring trip to Texas.”

The Gusties, now 17-3 overall (7-0 MIAC), had their 16-game win streak come to and end with a loss against Division I opponent North Dakota.
