ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a series against Bethel University this weekend. The Gusties (13-5-3, 9-2-3 MIAC) host the Royals (7-10-4, 4-6-4 MIAC) Friday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink and travel to Blaine, Minn. Saturday afternoon.

Last Time Out: Gustavus swept Saint Mary’s University last weekend with two shutouts, winning 2-0 Friday in St. Peter and 4-0 Saturday in Winona. On Friday, the Gusties tallied a season-high 58 shots on goal and allowed a season-low six shots from the Cardinals on Saturday. Goaltender Amanda DiNella (So., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) posted a total of 18 saves to earn two shutouts.
Series Snapshot: Friday’s game marks the 42nd all-time meeting between the Gustavus and Bethel women’s hockey programs with the Gusties owning a 35-5-1 record over the Royals. Over the last five seasons, Gustavus holds a 10-4 record against Bethel. Last season, Bethel swept the Gusties by scores of 3-1 and 3-2.
About the Royals: Last weekend, Bethel tied St. Olaf 3-3 and lost 3-4 to move its record to 7-10-4 overall and 4-6-4 in league play. As a team, the Royals average 2.57 goals per game and own a third-ranked power play percentage in the MIAC at 83.3 percent. First-year forward Sarah Moy is the leading scorer for the Royals with 17 points from six goals and 11 assists, while junior forward Wendy Roberts is the leading goal-scorer with 11 – which ranks among the top-five in the MIAC.
400 Milestone: On December 3rd at the College of Saint Benedict, a 3-2 win marked the 400th all-time victory in Gustavus women’s hockey program history. The Gusties are the fastest team in the MIAC to reach the 400 mark.

– The Gusties earned their sixth and seventh shutout wins of the season in a series sweep over Saint Mary’s last weekend.
– Gustavus posted a season-high 58 shots on goal on Friday before allowing a season-low six at Saint Mary’s on Saturday.
– The Gusties’ 58 shots on goal versus Saint Mary’s stands as the highest shot count since the 2012-13 team recorded 61 at St. Olaf, Feb. 15, 2013.
– The six shots on goal is the fewest allowed for Gustavus since the 2011-12 squad gave up just four against Hamline, Feb. 4, 2012. Diana Draayer (Jr., Deephaven, Minn.) tallied a career-high nine shots on goal Friday.

– Goaltender Amanda DiNella didn’t allow a Saint Mary’s goal over the weekend to record her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season, which is tied for second most in the nation. DiNella now owns a goals against average of under one goal a game (0.98) to rank first in the MIAC and third best in the nation. Her .750 winning percentage is also the best in the conference and her .942 save percentage is second best in the conference.
– Tegan Rodriguez (Fy., Sioux City, Iowa) recorded a career-best two points (1g-1a) at Saint Mary’s.
