ST. PETER, Minn. – The No. 22/25-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon, hosting Macalester College at Gus Young Court. The 16-0 (9-0 MIAC) Gusties are set to tip off against the 9-7 (3-6 MIAC) Scots at 1 p.m.

Last time out: Gustvaus most recently earned its 16th win of the season Wednesday evening, defeating St. Catherine University by a score of 83-76. Mikayla Miller (Jr., Goodhue, Minn.) led the Gusties with 22 points.
In the polls: The Gusties moved up in the most recent D3hoops.com rankings, sitting at No. 22. Gustavus also cracked the top 25 in the latest WBCA Coaches rankings, coming in at No. 25. Last week Gustavus cracked the top 25 to mark the first national ranking since Feb. 27, 2007.
The Series: Saturday’s contest marks the 71st all-time meeting between Gustavus and Macalester with the Gusties holding a 58-12 record over the Scots. In December, the Gusties defeated Macalester by a score of 81-60 in St. Paul to earn their second conference win.
Scouting the Scots: Macalester is off to a 3-6 start during Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Scots most recently fell by a score of 83-68 against Hamline University on Wednesday. Junior Regan Fruh leads Macalester, averaging 14.8 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. As a team, the Scots average 64.2 points per game and own a 41.0 field goal percentage.
Gustavus notables:
– The Gusties moved up in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, sitting at No. 22 with 132 points. They also came in at No. 25 in the latest WBCA Coaches rankings. Last week Gustavus cracked the top 25 to mark the first national ranking since Feb. 27, 2007.
– The Gusties’ 16-0 start stands as the best start in program history, breaking the previous record holding 2002-03 Gustavus squad who began the season with a 13-0 record before suffering its first loss.
– Justin Lee (So., Dawson, Minn.) registered several career-highs in Wednesday win over St. Kate’s. Lee recorded a career-best 18 points, two blocked shots, and 37 minutes played.
– Mikayla Miller continues to lead the Gusties, averaging 17.9 points per game – which ranks second highest in the MIAC.
– Miranda Rice (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) ranks third behind Miller in the MIAC, averaging 16.8 points per game. Rice also ranks second in the MIAC with a 61.3 field goal percentage.
– Hannah Howard (Sr., St. Paul, Minn.) ranks among the top-five shooters in the MIAC with a 55.6 field goal percentage.
– Gustavus ranks first in the MIAC in field goal percentage (46.5), free throw percentage (79.0), assists per game (17.9), and steals per game (12.6).
– The Gusties are averaging 74.5 points per game and 53.0 points against. Each mark ranks second in the MIAC
