ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team heads back into Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against St. Catherine University this weekend.
The Gusties (7-5-1, 3-2-1 MIAC) host the Wildcats (6-7, 2-4 MIAC) in St. Peter at 7 p.m. Wednesday. On Saturday, St. Kate’s hosts Gustavus in St. Paul at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out: Last Saturday, Gustavus shut out St. Norbert College at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The goaltending trio of Bailey Jackson, Paige Press, and Amanda DiNella each played a period in net to combine for 14 saves to guide the Gusties to their third shutout win of the season.
Series Snapshot: Friday’s game marks the 41st all-time meeting between the Gustavus and St. Catherine women’s hockey programs with the Gusties owning a 34-4-2 record over the Wildcats. Over the last five seasons, Gustavus is undefeated against St. Kate’s with a 9-0-1 record. Last season, the Gusties tied and won against the Wildcats.
About the Wildcats: St. Kate’s holds an overall record of 6-7, while going 2-4 thus far in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Wildcats most recently escaped with a 5-4 win at Northland College on Tuesday in Ashland, Wis. Senior forward Jordan Solheim and sophomore forward Laken Miller lead St. Kate’s with 14 points each. Solheim’s 10 assists ranks tied for most in the MIAC. Junior goaltender Kristen Pechacek owns a .928 save percentage and has recorded 220 saves to rank in the top-five among MIAC netminders in each mark.
Gustavus Notables:
– Gustavus earned its third shutout win of the season with a 1-0 win against St. Norbert last Saturday. The Gusties scored their lone goal on the man advantage to own a record of 6-1 when tallying a power play goal.
– Kaitlyn Klein (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season vs. St. Norbert.
– Amelia Vosen (Fy., Nowthen, Minn.) recorded an assist vs. St. Norbert to lead the Gusties with four on the season.
– Paige Press (So., Cottage Grove, Minn.) earned her first win of the season in goal vs. St. Norbert.
– Amanda DiNella (So., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) ranks among the top goaltenders in the MIAC. Her 1.18 goals against average is second best along with her .942 save percentage. Bailey Jackson (Fy., Chaska, Minn.) ranks third behind DiNella with a 2.02 goals against average.
