Men’s Golf Cracks Top-25 In Golfweek Coaches Poll

The Gustavus men’s golf team moved into the top-25 in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, released today. The Black and Gold sit at No. 25 with 85 points.

NORMAN, Okla. – The Gustavus men’s golf team moved into the top-25 in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, as released today. The Black and Gold sit at No. 25 with 85 points.

Gustavus was last ranked in March of last season, sitting at No. 20.

Huntingdon College ranks No. 1 in the poll after receiving 14 first-place votes.

Gustavus is the third highest ranked Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team. The University of St. Thomas is ranked No. 11 and Saint John’s University sits at No. 16.

The Gusties most recently wrapped up the Twin Cities Classic on Monday at the Le Sueur Country Club, finishing in second place of 16 teams. The Gusties posted a 313 in the final round for a total of 890 (+34), seven strokes behind the winner Saint John’s. 

After 11 rounds of play, five Gusties rank towards the top in the MIAC for scoring average. Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.)Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.)Max Savini (So., Ramsey, Minn.) and Ben Hauge (Fy., Ramsey, Minn.) all rank in the top-10.
