ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus softball team kicks off MIAC postseason play today as it takes on St. Catherine. The No. 2 seeded Gusties and No. 3 seeded Wildcats play at 5 p.m. at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The Tommies won the regular season MIAC title and have earned the right to host the entire tournament.
The NCAA released its regional rankings yesterday and all four MIAC playoff teams are ranked. St. Thomas is No. 2, Gustavus is No. 4, St. Kate’s is No. 5, and Hamline is No. 8.
Gustavus, participating in its 13th consecutive MIAC tournament, is the defending MIAC playoff champion after knocking off St. Thomas last season. Gustavus is 20-22 all time in the MIAC playoffs.
