Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team finished sixth out of ten teams at the NCAA Championships played in Green Lake, Wisconsin.

The Gustavus women’s golf team fired a team score of 348 (+56) on Friday and finished in sixth place in the 10-team NCAA Championships played in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Methodist won the championship with a 72-hole total of 327-323-314-339–1303 (+135). The Gusties 72-hole total was 333-345-329-348–1355(+187).

The top scorer for the Gusties on Friday was Erin Schliep with a nine-over par 82, while Kelli Groff posted a score of 14-over 87. Alana Reetz carded an 88 (+15) and Katie Aplin and Kelsey Getz both posted scores of 91 (+18).

Individually, Gustavus was led by Erin Schliep who carded a 72-hole total of 82-86-81-82–331 (+39) and finished in a tie for 17th place. The other finishes for Gustavus included Kelly Groff in 21st place (78-86-82-87–333), Kelsy Getz in 42nd place (86-84-86-91–347), Katie Aplin in 43rd place (87-92-80-91–350), and Alana Reetz in 48th place (90-89-88-88–355). Sixty golfers took part in the tournament.
