Tennis Teams Headed To California, Texas This Weekend

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s tennis teams will each be competing out of state this weekend, as the men’s squad will travel to Ponoma, Calif. to take part in the Sagehen Invite at Pomona-Pitzer College on Friday and Saturday, while the women head to San Antonio to compete in the Trinity University Invite Saturday through Monday.

The men’s team opens competition on Friday with its third consecutive match against a ranked opponent, as it takes on host and No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer at noon central time. The team plays again Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. with opponents to be determined based on tournament outcomes.

The women’s tournament is a round-robin format, meaning the Gusties’ opponents and match times have already been determined. On Saturday, the Gusties face Mary Hardin-Baylor at 10 a.m., Sunday they take on No. 37 East Texas Baptist at 11 a.m. and Texas Lutheran at 2 p.m., and Monday they’ll face No. 24 Trinity at 10 a.m.
