ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s basketball team hosts its final game of the season at 1 p.m. today for game two of the season series against Carleton. The Knights won game one of the series 64-53 in overtime on Jan. 16 in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties enter the matchup with an 11-13 overall record and 8-11 mark in the MIAC, while the Knights are 13-11 overall and 10-9 in the league. Gustavus is coming off a thrilling 63-62 win over Saint John’s, while the Knights lost 65-60 to Bethel on Wednesday.

Live online coverage of today’s game begins at 12:50 p.m. and will be broadcast on AM 860 KNUJ with the voice of the Golden Gusties Tom Wheeler on the call.

SENIOR DAY

As is tradition at Gustavus, the final home game of the regular season is designated as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to Gustavus men’s basketball the past four years. This year, the athletics department, Head Coach Mark Hanson, parents, and fans salute the six student-athletes who have represented the men’s basketball program with pride and class throughout their collegiate careers. Student-athletes honored tonight for their years of commitment include Gary Cooper (Detroit, Mich.), Chad Poppen (St. Peter, Minn.), Chris Narum (Eagan, Minn.), Brian Jacobs (Lake Crystal, Minn.), Brody Ziegler (Mankato, Minn.) and Sergio Najera (New Prague, Minn.).
