St. Paul – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s outdoor track and field team concluded its 2015 season with a seventh place (56 points) at the MIAC Championships held over the weekend on the campus of Macalester College. St. Thomas took the 2015 MIAC title with 164.5 points, Hamline finished second with 138.5 points, and St. Olaf rounded out the podium in third with 118 points.
Highlighting the final day with an All-Conference performance in the 400-meter hurdles was Ed ReMine (So., Mantorville, Minn.). ReMine finished runner-up with a time of 54.92, being edged by only St. Thomas’s Connor Gross who recorded a time of 54.65.
After his third place, All-Conference showing in the 10,000-meter run on day one, Thomas Knobbe (So, Decorah, Iowa) added a fourth place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:38.95.
Scott Williams (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) provided a pair top eight finishes in the hurdles by taking fifth in the 400-meter in 54.92 and 8th in the 110-meter in 17.47.
Sean O’Connell (So., St. Peter, Minn.) and the 4×400-meter relay team rounded out Gustavus’s top performances on the track. O’Connell came in sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.88, and David Anderson (So., St. Michael, Minn.), O’Connell, Sam ReMine (So., Mantorville, Minn.), and Ed ReMine teamed up to place third in 3:19.05.
Nick Carlson (Sr., Fridley, Minn.) posted the team’s top performance in the field events with an eighth place throw in the javelin with a distance of 162-feet.

There was a short awards ceremony following the conclusion of the meet to honor both team champions. The top three individuals in each event and the first-place relay team will automatically earn All-Conference honors, and the 4th-through-6th place finishers in each open event and 2nd-through-6th place relay teams will all be named All-Conference Honorable Mention. The rest of the 2015 MIAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field awards will be voted on by the coaches and announced later this week.
