Swimming & Diving’s Meet Against St. Thomas To Be Live Streamed On Saturday

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are set to face the University of St. Thomas in a dual on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the Vic Gustafson Pool. The meet will serve as the final dual of the 2014-15 season for both the Gusties and Tommies.

Fans not in attendance will be able to view the meet online through the Gustavus athletics website. Gustavus will provide a high definition video stream of the afternoon’s event for viewing on your computer, tablet, or smart phone through GameCentral by Stretch Internet. The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are both coming off second place finishes at the Grinnell Invitational held last weekend in Grinnell, Iowa. In what was the team’s last preliminary-final format meet of the season, the men scored 976 points amongst six teams and the women scored 922 points in a field of 10. St. Thomas took part in the Meet of Saints Invite last weekend at the St. Thomas Anderson Pool. The Tommie men won with 834.5 points, topping St. Olaf, Saint John’s, and Macalester, while the women took first against St. Olaf, Saint Benedict, Macalester, and St. Catherine.

As is tradition at Gustavus, the final home meet of the regular season serves as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to the Gustavus swimming and diving program the past four years. Those seniors being honored before the meet include Kyle Herold (Ramsey, Minn.), Ross Larson (Brookings, S.D.), Tommy Panetti (Bloomington, Minn.), Zac Solis (Centennial, Colo.), Jens Thomsen (Shawnee, Kan.), and Kurt Youngdahl (Deephaven, Minn.) of the men’s team, and Grace Bymark (Baxter, Minn.), Laura Dobler (St. Peter, Minn.), Emily Erickson (Duluth, Minn.), Heather Funai (Lincolnwood, Ill.), Gabrielle Gazzola (Woodbury, Minn.), Abby Hinrichs (Red Wing, Minn.), Kayla Hutsell (Apple Valley, Minn.), Sophia Iaquinta (Lincoln, Neb.), McKenna Jones (Faribault, Minn.), Danielle Klunk (Appleton, Wis.), Libby Larson (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), Caitlin Leahy (Roseville, Minn.), Katie Olson (North Oaks, Minn.), Breanna Schlegel (Eagan, Minn.), Casey Skurzewski (Mukwonago, Wis.), Jennifer Strom (Rochester, Minn.), Megan Tuttle (Deephaven, Minn.), and Anna Wiltse (Glenwood Springs, Colo.) of the women’s team.
