The 2009 MIAC Regular Season Champion Golden Gustie Softball Team

The Gustavus softball team, which won the MIAC Regular Season Championship with a 21-1 record and finished second at the MIAC Tournament, has received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Gusties, who are the #7 seed in the Indianola Regional, will face #2 seed Central on Thursday at a time yet to be determined. The 59-team field was revealed Monday morning.

Other games at the Indianola Regional include No. 1 seed Univ. of St. Thomas (Minn.) (39-4) against No. 8 Webster Univ. (Mo.) (23-16), No. 5 Univ. of Wis.-La Crosse against No. 4 Wartburg College (36-6), and No. 3 Washington-St. Louis Univ. (Mo.) (24-11) against No. 6 Luther College (33-9). The Central-Gustavus winner will meet the Washington-Luther winner.

More details to follow as the tournament schedule is announced on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
