Milan, Ill. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team is in seventh place after shooting a 315 (+27) on day one of the Augustana Invitational being held at the Pinnacle Country Club over the weekend. Indian Hills Community College leads the pack with a 292 (+4), Monmouth College sits in second with a 302 (+14), and Illinois Wesleyan University ranks third with a 303 (+15).
Leading the Gusties on day one was senior Tyler McMorrow (St. Cloud, Minn.). McMorrow shot a three-over-par 75 (37-38) to finish in a five-way tie for sixth place.
“Tyler finished with a pair of birdies to salvage a 75 – that was great to see,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We let a few shots get away from us today and will need to clean a few things up tomorrow. If we change improve in a few areas, we will be in good shape.”
Sophomore Andrew Brandt (Medina, Minn.) sits second on the team and 25th overall with a six-over 78 (37-41). Matt Jensen (Sr., Edina, Minn.) ranks 40th after shooting an 80 (+8), Andrew Krasaway (So., Hermantown, Minn.) ranks 49th with an 82 (+10), and Andrew Oakes (Sr., Hermantown, Minn.) rounds out the squad in 57th with an 83rd (+11).
