Jackie Luehmann Places Third in Shot Put in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Gutavus Adolphus senior Jackie Luehmann placed third in the shot put throwing a distance of 47′ 2.5″ in the 2004 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The championships were held at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater March 12-13.

Gustavus Adolphus Senior Jackie Luehmann (Lewiston, Minn.) placed third in the shot put throwing a distance of 47′ 2.5″ in the 2004 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Luehmann earned All-American honors for her performance at the championships. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater hosted the indoor track & field championships on March 12-13.

Luehmann broke the Gustavus indoor shot put record on Saturday, which was set by her in 2003 (45′ 10″). She was the only Gustavus athlete to qualify and compete at the championships this year. The senior has qualified and competed in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships all four years of her college career. Her best performance leading up to Saturday was a sixth place finish in 2001 (43′ 11.25″), which was her first-year at Gustavus.
