Women’s Golf In Third After Day One Of Division 3 Classic

Lake City, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s golf team opened its weekend at the Division 3 Classic with a first round score of 326 (+38) on Saturday at the Jewel Golf Club.  The Gusties currently sit third behind St. Thomas (315, +27) and Carleton (324, +36).

Gustavus was led by Jordan Drenttel (Jr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), who turned in an opening round 79 (+7).  Drenttel is currently tied for third, five shots off the lead, which is held by Brit McNett-Emmerich who shot a two-over-par 74.

Chloe Altmann (So., Olivia, Minn.) came next with an eight-over-par 80 to tie for 11th after round one.  Also in a tie for the third is Mae Meierhenry (Fy., Sioux Falls, S.D.) who shot an identical eight-over-par 80 to represent the Gustavus second team.

Play will resume again tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City.
