The Gustavus men’s golf team finished fifth at the 16-team Saint John’s Invitational played Sunday at the par-70 Monticello Country Club in Monticello, Minnesota. The Gusties fired an 18-hole total of 297 and finished eight shots behind first place St. Cloud State University and Saint John’s. Gustavus was led individually by Alex Woodhull, who finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with a score of 71.
The fifth place Gustavus team was led by Mark Stuckey, who shot a total of 72 to finish in a tie for seventh place, followed by Eric Harris in a tie for 14th place with a score of 73. Other Gustavus scores included Jordan Hawkinson with a score of 74 to finish in a tie for 20th place, Ricky Copeland with a score of 78 to finish in a tie for 51st place, and Kyle Rohlfs with a score of 79 to finish in a tie for 55th place.
Coach Scott Moe placed another Gustavus team in the tournament which placed seventh with a score of 302. Other than Woodhull’s 71, Dan Barthell finished in a tie for 25th place by posting a score of 75. Other scores included AJ Olson in a tie for 39th place with a total of 77, Josh Curb in a tie for 55th place with a score of 79, and Kevin Horn in a tie for 60th place with a total of 80.
