Women’s Softball falls to Trinity and Chapman on Sunday

The Gustavus Adolphus softball team start the 2004 season with an 0-4 record. The Gusties played a double header on Sunday against Trinity University and Chapman University in San Antonio, Texas.

The Gustavus Adolphus softball team start the 2004 season with an 0-4 record. The Gusties played a double header on Sunday against Trinity University and Chapman University in San Antonio, Texas.

Gustavus played Trinity University Sunday afternoon in San Antonio. Audrey Lenoch doubled in the first inning and scored on a Molly Biehm single giving the Gusties a 1-0 lead. The Tigers scored four runs in the first inning to take the lead 4-1.

The Gusties captured the lead 6-4 scoring five runs in the third inning. However, Trinity responded again with three runs in the fourth and an insurance run in the sixth to secure the their first win of the season.

Audrey Lenoch was 3-4 with two RBI and three runs scored for Gustavus, while Kristin Kunz and Tina Strauss each finished 2-4.

Chapman University blanked the Gusties 8-0 later in the afternoon. The Gusties recorded four hits in the afternoon game. Bernstein, Lenoch, Medved, and Mielke each recorded a hit for Gustavus.
