The Gustavus softball team kicked off the start of its spring break trip to the Tucson Invitational with a pair of wins over Hope International University of Fullerton, Calif. The Gusties won game one 7-1 and won game two in the bottom of the seventh inning by a score of 5-4. Gustavus improved to 4-2 with the doubleheader sweep and will return to action on Monday against Lawrence University at 9 a.m. (Mountain Time).

Callie Nelsen was the winning pitcher for Gustavus in game one as her record improved to 1-1. Betsie Collins earned the victory for the Gusties in the second game. Emily Klein hit her first home run of the season in the second contest. Rachael Click continued to perform well from the plate as she delivered a one-out RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the 5-4 victory.
