Women’s Indoor Track and Field Performs Well at University of Minnesota Parents’ Day Open

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field squad competed at the University of Minnesota Parents’ Day Open on Saturday. The 800 meter relay team which was made up of Danielle Serbus, Megan Lundgren, Sari Lindeman, and Lyntrell Wilson posted the top finish placing second in a time of 1:51.29, while Sari Lindeman finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 35′ 6 3/4″. No team scores were kept at the meet.

The Gusties top performances on the day came in the middle distances and the field events. Megan Lundgren led the way in the middle distances with a fifth place finish in the 600 meters in a time of 1:40.31, while Chelsea Craven added a ninth place finish in the 400 meters in a time of 1:02.73 and the 4×400 relay team which consisted of Elizabeth Pringle, Megan Lundgren, Janey Helland, and Kaelene Lundstrum placed sixth with a time of 4:08.31.

In the field events, Lindeman’s third place finish in the triple jump led the way. Anna Bauer followed with a fourth place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 48′ 1 3/4″, while Janey Helland placed seventh in the long jump at 16′ 9 3/4″ and Lisa Brown finished ninth in the shot put at 40′ 9″.

The team will take part in the Carleton Pre-MIAC meet this Friday, Feb. 29 starting at 6:30 pm.
