Men’s And Women’s Indoor Track & Field Take Second At CSB-SJU Quadrangular

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams each took second place at the College of Saint Benedict-Saint John’s University Quadrangular with 172 and 157.5 points, respectively, Saturday in Collegeville, Minn.

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams each took second place at the College of Saint Benedict-Saint John’s University Quadrangular with 172 and 157.5 points, respectively, Saturday in Collegeville, Minn.

In the men’s competition, Saint John’s won its home event with 178.5 points, while Concordia placed third (119) and the University of Minnesota-Morris fourth (89.5). On the women’s side, Saint Benedict claimed its home event as well with 195 points, while Concordia took third (152.5) and Morris fourth (70).

Blair Regal highlighted the day for the Gustie men winning all four events he participated in. The sophomore out of Lakeville, Minn. won the 60-meter dash in 7.02, 200-meter dash in 22.26, long jump with a distance of 22-3 feet and the triple jump, clearing 45-7.75 feet.

Other event winners for the men’s squad included Tanner Davenport in the 1000-meter run in 2:36.31, Joseph Renier in the 5000-meter run in 16:06.78, Steve Groskreutz in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.64 and John Owens in the pole vault, clearing a height of 15-6.25 feet.

The Gustie women took home four victories from four different participants. Haley Kemper won the 400-meter dash in 60.15, Rebecca Hare took the 5000-meter run in 18:15.31, Megan Endresen claimed the weight throw with a toss of 49-7.75 feet and Allyson Voss captured the pole vault with a height of 10-6.75 feet.
