Women’s Golf Team Opens Spring Season With Dual Meet Win Over Webber International

The Gustavus women’s golf team opened its spring schedule with a dual meet win over Webber International University on Friday, April 6. The Gusties outscored WIU 340 to 382. Kimbra Kosak led the team with a score of 83.

The Gustavus women’s golf team opened its spring schedule with a dual meet win over Webber International University on Friday, April 6. The Gusties outscored WIU 340 to 382. Kimbra Kosak (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.) led the team with a score of 83.

Kosak was followed by Breanne Staples (Sr., Windom, Minn.) with an 85, Kali Griggs (Fy., Burnsville, Minn.) with an 86, and Rachel Roberg (Jr., Rice Lake, Wis.) with an 86. Gustavus totaled the top four scores on the day. Other scores posted by Gustavus golfers included Lauren Runsvold (So., Fargo, Minn.) with a 94, Amanda Johnson (Fy., Bemidji, Minn.) with a 95, and Kelly Doty (Sr., Milaca, Minn.) with a 115.

The meet was played on the challenging El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Golf Club in Orlando, Florida where the NCAA Division III Championships will be held in early May.

Gustavus is scheduled to face St. Olaf College in a dual meet in Northfield on Thursday (4/12) and then take part in the Carleton Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (4/14-15) at the Northfield Golf Club.
