Holiday’s 77 Helps Gustavus Hold Down Second Place After First Day of NCAA Tournament

Rikka Holiday picked a good time to equal her career best score of 77 as she helped the Gusties finish in second place after the first day of the 2011 NCAA Championships, which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida.

Rikka Holiday picked a good time to equal her career best score of 77 as she helped the Gusties finish in second place after the first day of the 2011 NCAA Championships, which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida.  Gustavus, which posted an opening round score of 322 is four strokes behind current leader and defending national champion Methodist, which fired an opening round total of 318.  Holiday is in a four-way tie for first place individually with her four-over par 77.

Other scores for Gustavus included Katie Schenfeld (80, 8th tie), Annie Jackson (80, 8th tie), Taylor Drenttel (85, 35th tie), and Kayleigh Dittes (86th, 41 tie).

The Gusties who played in the afternoon on Tuesday will play in the morning on Wednesday.
