Gymnastics Team Posts Season High Score At Gershon Invitational

The Gustavus gymnastics team posted a season high team score of 178.075 at the Gershon Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin La Crosse on Friday evening. Individually, Danielle Thibodeau finished fourth in the all-around with a career high score of 36.450.

The Gustavus gymnastics team posted a season high team score of 178.075 at the Gershon Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin La Crosse on Friday evening.  The host Eagles finished first out of five teams with a score of 186.125, while Winona State placed second (181.050), UW-Stout placed third (179.325), UW-Oshkosh placed fourth (179.050), and Gustavus finished fifth (178.075).

The Gusties posted individual event team scores of 46.050 on the vault, 42.575 on the uneven bars, 43.950 on the balance beam, and 45.500 on the floor exercise.

Individually, Danielle Thibodeau finished fourth in the all-around with a career high score of 36.450.  Thibodeau placed sixth on the vault (9.325), 12th on the uneven bars (8.900), 12th on the balance beam (8.950), and 12th on the floor exercise (9.275).  Other top individual finishes for Gustavus included Kelly Mathewson finishing sixth on the uneven bars (9.150), and Jamie Ries and Samantha Opsahl placing 11th on the vault (9.250).

Gustavus will compete in the Best of Minnesota Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota next Saturday in Minneapolis at 6:00 pm.
