Gustavus Adolphus College junior forward Mike Hosfield (Golden Valley, Minn./Armstrong) scored five goals and recorded an assist for six points as the Gusties swept Hamline last weekend by the scores of 6-2 and 8-2.
Hosfield recorded two goals and an assist in Friday’s 6-2 win in St. Peter and then tallied the pure hat trick with three goals in the second period in Saturday’s 8-2 win in St. Paul. Hosfield’s two goals on Friday night came within five minutes of each other and his three goals on Saturday came within nine minutes of each other. He is the second leading scorer for the Gusties this season with 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points.
The Gusties, who are currently 7-2-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the MIAC, are averaging 7.0 goals per game in league play.
