The Gustavus women’s track and field team competed in the MSU-Mankato Open on Friday and Saturday in the Meyers Field Field House in Mankato, Minn. Kaelene Lundstrum was the top Gustavus performer in the meet. Lundstrum won the heptathlon with 3468 points, setting a new Gustavus record. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Ally Voss and Anny Karl contributed the only other Gustavus top-five finishes. Voss placed fifth overall in the pole vault, clearing 10′ 8.25″. Karl took fifth overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.06.
Janey Helland competed separate from the team at the Cobber Pentathlon on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. Helland finished second out of three female competitors with a point total of 2840. Leah Kay of Concordia placed first with 3182 points.

The Gustavus women’s track and field team will compete in the MSU-Mankato Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Meyer’s Field House on the campus of MSU.
