The Gustavus volleyball team defeated MIAC foe St. Kate’s 3-0 in St. Paul on Wednesday night. With the win, the Gusties improve to 15-4 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC. Anne Osthus led Gustavus with 16 kills.
The Gusties won the match in convincing fashion as they claimed the first game 30-15, the second game 30-21 and the fourth game 30-22. Gustavus was led on the attack by Anne Osthus with 16 kills and Jessica Schaetzke with 14 kills. Setter Rachel Batalden contributed 45 assists. Tara Houlihan added 16 digs and Nicole Nesseth dropped in five service aces.
Gustavus does not play this weekend. Coach Kari Eckheart’s squad will return to action on Tuesday, October 7 against Martin Luther College in St. Peter at 7:30 pm.
